My massage therapy training started in 2006 at East West College of Healing Arts in Portland, OR and has continued for 11+ years. License #14982
Swedish massage was the foundation of my massage career but I honestly never felt like those sessions really helped my clients. Sure, they felt great on the table but after leaving my treatment space the issues would creep back in. Was I really even helping? I started to question my practice while at the same time I began to feel carpal tunnel like symptoms in my wrists. I reached out to a teacher and that first session changed my whole path within this field.
Carpal tunnel was not the structural cause of my pain and tension, instead some of my cervical vertebrae were out of articulation and were referring pinched nerve symptoms to my wrists. Leaving his treatment room that day I was in awe and so damn excited to learn how to actually help my clients.
Since that day, some 9 years ago I have studied with and learned from some of the best mentors! I’ve gained the knowledge necessary to unwind holding patterns, relieve trigger points, decrease pain, and increase range of motion for clients. My practice continues to grow and develope with every new class I take, client I work with, article I read and experience I receive.
These sessions are given through clothing and focus on positive structural change which is achieved through a of blend of deep tissue therapy, Myofascial release, Neuromuscular Therapy, and soft tissue mobilization.
Feel free to email/call to talk about your specific issues and how I can help! I look forward to meeting you!
